What brought you to LA?
I was born and raised here! There are cities I love around the world, but there’s no place like home.
Describe your style in 3 words.
Comfortable, denim, no-fuss. I wear denim probably five days a week!
How does your city influence your style?
I never realized how laid back and easygoing LA natives are compared to people around the country until some out-of-state friends brought it up. I don’t always feel calm, cool, and collected, but even on my most stressful days, that LA stereotype translates in my style. I’m always running around — from school, to work, to shoots, to coffee, to meetings — so I wear functional clothes that still give me a put-together look.
What’s an LA spot that only locals would know about?
Some of my local favorites are: Marugame Monzo (udon spot in Little Tokyo), Sqirl (great for lunch and brunch, in East Hollywood), Gilly Flowers (the most adorable flower shop, in Old Town Pasadena), Individual Medley (the best place to find thoughtful gifts, in Atwater Village), and Paramount Coffee Project (a favorite Melbourne-style brunch spot).
What’s the best restaurant you just discovered?
I discovered Otium about a year ago…I always recommend this spot to people who are looking for an amazing brunch or dinner. Located in Downtown right by the Broad Museum, this place has an awesome ambience, and serves beautiful drinks and incredible food. Their service is also some of the best in the city, which makes the dining experience that much better!
Best way to workout in your city?
LA is massive and offers so many free options for exercise! If you don’t mind the drive, Malibu is perfect for hikes — the views are insane. It’s also nice to just walk around areas like Echo Park and Silverlake so you get some light exercise in while shopping or cafe-hopping. For a more regimented workout I love doing yoga and pilates.
What’s your favorite reading spot in your city?
I love to do leisure reading while sipping coffee at spots like The Assembly and Copa Vida. For a more “one with nature” experience, I’ll head to Vista Hermosa Park, which is beautifully kept and provides a nice escape from city life.
What’s one thing you put on when you want to feel confident?
Wearing my favorite leather jacket always makes me feel strong and polished. Whenever I put it on I feel like a determined, self-assured badass.
What are 4 things you never leave home without?
Water, my phone, my camera, and a snack.
What’s your morning routine like?
Very quick! I’m not really a morning person so I try to sleep as long as possible. I wake up at 6:15am (after snoozing my alarm a few times), then put on some light makeup and get dressed before I make a breakfast smoothie. My go-to recipe is strawberries, banana, spinach, vanilla protein powder, maca powder, coconut oil, coconut milk, and instant coffee granules. While having breakfast, I’ll scroll through my Instagram feed or news update emails, then I’m out the door by 7:15am.
What do you keep in your S’well?
Water water water. I don’t drink much besides water. Is it weird that I just really love how it tastes?
For those who think the West Coast is the best coast, you can shop our new LA bottle here.
