The sun dresses and shorts have finally been put away. It’s officially s’weater weather! We’re ready to welcome in and celebrate the colder temperatures. As we patiently wait for all of the holiday festivities that are soon to come, here are a few suggestions of things you can do in the meantime:
1. Rock a tacky holiday sweater or Drake-inspired turtleneck like this one from Acne Studios.
2. Whether it’s on your local pond that’s frozen over or at the Winter Village in Bryant Park, get outside and go ice skating.
3. Get in the kitchen and cook up a holiday treat! If you need some inspiration, check out some of our favorite recipes on our pinterest page.
4. Curl up with hot tea and that book you’ve been meaning to read. We recommend The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.
5. Netflix and chill warm up with takeout from our friends at Postmates.
6. Send your seasons greetings or a thank you note with these cards from Gramr – the holidays are the perfect time to show you care.
7. Grab a seasonal brew from our friends over at Starbucks – now selling limited edition S’well bottles in stores across the US.
Let us know what your favorite s’weater weather activities are by tagging @swellbottle or #swellbottle on social media.
We’re going to be honest; winter in New York City can be brutal. We’d love to let it go and say that the cold never bothered us anyway, but the cold is really starting to bother us. There’s no escaping the bone chilling cold, those gusts of wind that can sweep you off your feet or the feeling that it’s never going to stop snowing. Even still, team S’well has been braving the weather to explore the wonders of winter in New York City.
A stroll through Bryant Park is fitting for any season. But in the winter, the famous Josephine Shaw Lowell Memorial Fountain freezes over, stopping tourists and New Yorkers in their tracks. The icicles hanging over the granite fountain resemble a crystal chandelier.

Lucky for us, our new office is located conveniently close to The City Bakery, home to that famous hot chocolate you see everyone posting on Instagram. And we totally get the hype. The rich cocoa is not to be compared and warms our bellies when we can’t feel our fingers.

February is here and love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and the pressure is on for the perfect gift. Diamonds, chocolates, roses – they’re so last year. This year is all about S’well bottles and a fresh box of donuts! Recipe for success:
Take your 25oz Sparkling Champagne filled to the brim with bubbly on a night out with your special someone. The vacuum seal will keep the champagne carbonated to ensure your night really sparkles. Feeling poetic? Write a love note on your Valentine’s S’well bottle with our Chalk Ink pens. Lucky for you, the chalk ink wipes off easily with a wet cloth so if you aren’t ready to commit to the L-word…
Can’t decide which color to go with? We recommend Sparkling Champagne & Pink Champagne pictured below from the Glitter Collection. Enter our PIN IT TO WIN IT contest on Pinterest for a chance to win one of these bottles. Make sure to pin this photo and tag #swellbottle. The winners will be announced on 3/15.
And for all of you still thinking about the donuts, the best donuts in NYC are from Dough, just a few blocks from the S’well bottle HQ.
The Big Game is fast approaching and despite all the eating we’ve done during the blizzard, we can’t wait to get our hands on some football food and drinks! The buffalo wings, the chips and dip, the ice cold beer; touchdowns all around. Lucky for us Food Network has devoted a whole section of their website to Big Game recipes and they do not disappoint. From Beer-Focused Cocktails to Super Bowl Sweets, we’re ready for some tailgating. Tote your beer or beverage of choice in your S’well insulated bottle to keep your drinks cold or hot for the entire festivities.
Make sure to check the S’well Facebook page on game day (Sunday 2/1) for a chance to win two S’well bottles! We’ll be giving away bottles with the winning team’s colors to the fan who predicts the closest final score.

We’re a few weeks into the new year and maintaining the “New Year, New You” attitude. Aside from drinking our daily smoothies, Team S’well has been working on our fitness. Whether it is a yoga class, boot camp, spinning or lifting at the gym, we’ve always got a sleek stainless steel S’well water bottle with us. There’s nothing worse than when you reach for your water bottle mid-sweat, wanting a sip of refreshing water, left only to find that it’s warm. But since S’well bottles are made of insulated stainless steel, they will keep your drink cold for 24 hours, guaranteeing a thirst quenching sip till your workout is through.

New Year, New You 2015
Happy 2015! This past year has been a special one. Our CEO and Founder Sarah Kauss was on Fortune’s 40 Under 40 list, team S’well almost tripled in size, and we moved into a beautiful new office. Team S’well is excited to be moving into the New Year full of lots of opportunities.
Of course, we have a few resolutions in mind for the year ahead. We understand that maintaining resolutions through the whole year is an almost impossible undertaking. We’re going to keep at least this one resolution this year (we really mean it!) to drink more water. We’ve been reading about the benefits of drinking hot lemon water (i.e. Lifehack) and plan on starting our days with a full bottle.
Of course, we’re going to try to be fit and eat healthier, which is why we are so excited that Julia Dzafic and Brendan Fallis have so generously provided us with a recipe and workout routine to help get us going in the right direction.
Check out our New Year New You 2015 edition Newsletter for more.
Throw Back Thursday. Wine Wednesday. Of course, we’re big fans of both, but one of our favorite days of the week is Monday. We know what you’re thinking: “How could anyone like Mondays?”, but hear us out. Here, at the S’well office, we have a little something called Bagel Mondays.
“What is Bagel Monday?”, you ask. It’s just as it sounds. Every Monday, after we’ve dragged our tired bodies out of bed to our desks, we are greeted with that familiar delicious smell of fresh, warm, fluffy carbohydrates. We have found that it’s the best way to get the creative juices flowing. A bagel, as the first thing on a Monday morning, has also been found to cure our post weekend blues and prepare us for the long week ahead.
Sure, a few cups of coffee will help getting through Monday (or any day of the week) a bit easier, but we believe a good bagel in the morning could put pep in anyone’s step. You can bring your bagel on the go with your reusable stainless steel S’well Bottle too. In this case, we have Gramercy Bagel’s Everything Bagel and Midnight Black | Shimmer Collection S’well featured.
Next up, we are going to put the S’well spotlight on Tompkins Square Bagels and their Birthday Cake cream cheese, so stay tuned!
Adding the new bird feeder to our ginkgo tree outside the S’well HQ
S’well has always been committed to giving back to the community. So, when we heard about MillionTreesNYC, we jumped at the opportunity to help. MillionTreesNYC (MTNYC) is a citywide program whose goal is to plant one million new trees in NYC over the next ten years. They provide tools and host events dedicated to learning about the creation and preservation of trees in the city. This program is funded both by the City of New York and private organizations to make the city a cleaner and more beautiful place to live.
Our team decided to contribute to their cause by caring for the two male ginkgo trees outside of the S’well office. The continued care of NYC trees is another very important aspect of the MTNYC initiative. We were so excited about adopting our new trees that we posted a lovely photo on Instagram. After posting, we were contacted by the outreach coordinator of MTNYC named Jessica. She was so friendly that even provided us with a toolkit which contained gardening equipment and instructions for the care of our tree.
One afternoon, the whole team took the trek outside helping to care for and beautify our new ginkgo trees. We cleaned out all of the trash from the tree base and added some fertile soil. We also chose beautiful flowers to plant underneath our new trees and even added a bird feeder to attract some local wildlife to our doorstep. We appreciated the many compliments from passerby’s and neighbors and hoped we inspired them to care for other trees in the neighborhood.

Now, it’s your turn: S’well needs help naming our two new ginkgo trees. We are hosting a naming contest and running now through July 31st. Please comment on our Facebook post with a name for our trees to enter. The top two names will each receive a 17 oz. Clubhouse S’well bottle!
The S’well Bottle team just came back from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami. S’well Bottle partnered with IMG + MBFashion to launch a three-piece exclusive, limited edition anniversary collection of their 9 oz. bottles. Orange Sherbet, Sweet Mint, and Seashell Pink feature exclusive MBFW Swim designs to commemorate the special milestone. To keep guests hydrated in style, IMG Fashion distributed the limited edition bottles during official events and activities around the Miami show site. Take a look at the S’well experience in Miami via our #swellbottle @ #MBFWSwim Pinterest board.
The S’well team is very excited to cheer on the amazing teams during this year’s World Cup. We believe that hydration is the key when playing the beautiful game of soccer.
Our stainless steel water bottle allowed us to keep our drinks cold during the whole game and even the carbonated drinks stayed fresh from start to finish thanks to our vacuum seal top.
The game lasted into overtime where the USA suffered quite a defeat against the Belgian team. Within minutes, Belgium scored two goals. It looked like there might be a glimmer of hope for the USA when Julian Green came back with a goal on the 107th minute. Unfortunately, they could not tie up the score and their quest for the World Cup came to a halt.
Even though it was a tough defeat, S’well was thrilled to see that many World Cup fans were also S’well fans. Our bottle was quite a popular accessory in the Brazilian heat. Fans carried the bottle that best represented their country’s colors.

S’well has a color for every team.
Staying hydrated during the World Cup is hard, especially in the tropical Brazilian weather. Having access to cold water throughout the day is essential in combating the effects of dehydration, heat stroke and heat exhaustion. In hot weather, we should each consume about 100 oz. of water a day. If you go by that rule, you would have to purchase nine plastic water bottles at the store every single day. Alternatively, you can just refill your 25 oz. S’well Bottle four times.
Whether you are a player or a fan, remember that hydration is very important for your health and well-being. Drink in style with bottles in colors that match your favorite team, and be sure to tune into the final World Cup game on Sunday, July 13!

This week, S’well joined forces with 826NYC to volunteer at their Brooklyn location. 826NYC is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving and expanding the creative writing skills of NYC students. They achieve this through workshops, tutoring, field trips, and much more. S’well was very grateful to be a part of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” workshop, where we helped schoolchildren to create their own adventure book. Since everyday at S’well has been an adventure, we were very excited to create these books!

After a fun writing session, we decided that we would check out the fabulous Brooklyn Superhero Supply Store connected to the 826NYC classroom. There they had capes, secret identity kits, and even devillainizers. S’well’s favorite gadget was the cape tester, where we showed off our best superhero moves in the greatest superhero gear.
