Christmas time brings in a season for giving and we’re so lucky to have you all to give to! Between our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways on Facebook and #iwishforthisswell on Pinterest, we saw an overwhelming number of S’well fans enter and we couldn’t be more thankful for each and every one of you. We’re especially thankful for the amazing brands that partnered with us to giveaway such amazing gifts. In case you missed it, S’well gave out a gift pack to one lucky winner each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Take a look below as we recap the 12 Days.
On the first day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Sparkling Champagne bottle and Harry’s Winter Winston Set. We love Harry’s for many reasons, but mostly because they’re dedicated to providing for the guys who know they shouldn’t have to overpay for a great shave. Respect.
On the second day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Silver Lining bottle and a Moscow Mule Carry On Cocktail Kit. If you couldn’t already tell from our S’well S’pirits post and Pinterest page, here at S’well, we love a good cocktail. This cocktail kit is perfect for mixing up your favorite drinks on the fly.
On the third day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Navy Alligator bottle and a $100 Athleta gift card. Athleta has it all for the active woman – they provide high performing apparel that is both cute and affordable.
On the fourth day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Birds of Paradise bottle and a Ban.do desk set. Ban.do is our go-to brand for anything to do with gifts, tech, or stationary, especially for those who love bright colors and patterns.
On the sixth day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Angel Food bottle and a Erno Laszlo cleansing kit + sheet mask. Erno Laszlo knows good skin. If you don’t already use these products, you need to get on board. Your skin will thank us later.
On the seventh day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Seafoam bottle and a $100 Sweetgreen gift card + air plants from The Sill. Sweetgreen is the perfect spot for clean, healthy and most importantly, delicious food. The Sill is the perfect destination for all of your houseplant needs. We can’t resist their tiny plants, perfect for desk decorating.
On the eighth day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Jade bottle and a CAUSEBOX. We love CAUSEBOX for so many reasons, but mostly because they provide their customers with ethically-made products that give back and empower others.
On the ninth day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz Tuxedo bottle and a Botkier New York Logan Crossbody bag. If you’re in need of a new purse or bag, search no more. The S’well ladies love Botkier, especially their backpacks.
On the tenth day of Christmas, S’well gave a 9oz London Chimney bottle and Retrosuperfuture Panama Intellect sunglasses. We’re currently obsessed with putting on our Retrosuperfuture sunglasses and blocking out the haters.
On the twelfth and final day of Christmas, we gave a $100 S’well gift card and a weekend stay at the new Tommie Hudson Square Hotel in NYC with a meal for 2 at Harold’s Meat + Three. The Tommie Hotel was designed to “unleash the potential of every moment” and we couldn’t be more excited for its opening.

P.S. Soak in the last moments of Christmas by listening to our “Let it S’now” playlist on Spotify. Consider it our gift to you!
Before the beautiful summer weather leaves us once again, we’re trying to fit in as many group gathering as we can. And let’s face it, who doesn’t love a dinner party with friends and family? We’ve rounded up a few quick tips to keep in mind when you throw the ultimate Dinner Party over Labor Day weekend:
Serving up a cheese plate to start? If it were up to us, we could eat cheese for the whole meal. But we love Real Simple’s guide to the perfect cheese platter, which outlines the different varieties to consider and what to serve with it. We recommend using one of Brooklyn Slate’s beautiful cheese boards, sure to catch the eye of your guests.
If you’re thinking about assigned seating, our 9oz S’well bottles are the perfect alternative to place cards. Use the Chalk Ink Pens to personalize each bottle with your guests’ names. At the end of the party, they’ll walk away with a fun memento of the night!
Set the table
You know the fork goes on the left, knife on the right, but you have to set the rest of the table too. We love the variety of flower arrangements The Bouqs creates and their guarantee of the freshest flowers.
Set the tone
Music will set the tone for any dinner party. You don’t want to put your guests to sleep, but you don’t want to feel like they’re eating dinner at a rave. We love Spotify’s “The Lounge Bar” playlist, that has stripped down lounge versions and covers of some of your favorite songs.
Gift for the host
As a guest, it’s customary to bring a bottle of wine, a dessert or a small gift for your host. Why not bring them a 25oz S’well! You can even chill a bottle of wine and put it in the bottle before giving it to your host so he or she can serve it.
Governor’s Ball Music Festival, aka GOV BALL, is NYC’s best kept music festival secret. Tickets are substantially less expensive than Coachella and other major festivals but the line up is just as impressive featuring headliners Drake, Lana del Rey, the Black Keys and Florence and the Machine. Those of us in the office attending are currently preparing our ears on Spotify with our custom made playlist.
If you don’t have tickets you can follow along on our Spotify playlist here. We’re clearly most excited to see Drake and Florence and the Machine but other highlights from the festival include the Lana del Rey, Odesza, MØ, ASTR, Little Dragon, Flume, Ratatat and the Black Keys.
Luckily for our taste buds, the Infatuation partnered with Gov Ball this year to curate the food vendors. Our favorite #EEEEEATS include Luke’s Lobster, Momofuku Milk Bar, Mighty Quinn’s, Taqueria Diana, Van Leeuwen, Tacombi. Our stomach’s growling already thinking about it!
We are even excited about Gov Ball’s location on Randall’s Island- just a ferry ride from Manhattan gives you an excuse to be on a boat with some fresh air outside the city.
And it goes without saying to make sure you pack your favorite color S’well bottle and fill it at the water stations throughout the venue to stay hydrated in between visiting the beer tents and never ending acts.
Unlike Drake’s mixtape, if you’re reading this it’s NOT TOO LATE to buy tickets, still available here. Also not too late to get a S’well bottle in time for the festival, swing by Rothman’s in Union Square for a wide variety of S’well bottle colors and styles at our temporary pop up shop. You may just come out of there with one for you at Gov Ball and one for Dad for Father’s Day…
In case you haven’t seen all of the excitement surrounding SXSW, the week long plus event is happening in our favorite city, Austin, Texas. The city is brimming with locals and tourists coming together for the common good of innovative ideas, technology, live music, film, food, you name it. S’well is in Austin for SXSW Interactive and you may have seen SXSW Limited Edition S’well bottles given out at the Spotify & Funny or Die houses, or maybe even SXGood Hub or in your VIP backpack at the Spring happy hour. We are taking over Austin right now- one bottle at a time #sxswell.
Seeing as the S’well team has some major foodies, we were able to find some time to to eat at some of the most impressive restaurants around Austin. A few of our favorites #eeeeeats were tacos at Veracruz All Natural & Torchy’s Tacos where we tried Migas Breakfast tacos. Migas is a popular Tex-Mex breakfast dish, consisting of a mix of scrambled eggs corn tortilla strips, onions, chile peppers, tomatoes and cheese, most often found in a breakfast taco. We felt like real locals trying them. Also a local Austin staple is Topo Chico, a mineral water that comes in this glass bottle that I had a packaging crush on (we even took ours home as a keepsake of Austin). And be sure to try a local favorite cocktail: Topo Chico mixed with local favorite vodka, Grapefruit Deep Eddy.
Next up is the infamous Texas BBQ. Austin has this reputation for having the best brisket, housed in food trucks with crazy, long lines that sell out before 1 pm. So clearly needing to see/eat all of the hype, I braved the line at La Barbecue on Saturday morning, getting there at 11:20 am and walking to the picnic table with a tray of heaping pounds of meat around 12:45 pm. The line isn’t as bad as you’d think because on Saturdays, you can pump free beer from a keg while you wait in the salty heat. $33 got us enough meat to feed a full family. We loved the brisket but overall everything was amazing and lived up to it’s reputation. In case you still aren’t full from piles of pork, swing by Gourdough’s for donuts made of crazy concoctions.
We even had time to try a few more foodie favorites: Qui, Odd Duck and Uchi. Qui has an outdoor patio, Pulutan, with cheaper eats than their normal tasting menu. Qui had great cocktails and small plates, but the most noteworthy dish was the cheddar cheese ice cream sandwich. Odd Duck had some of the most innovative flavor combinations and was very veggie friendly. The favorite being the Sunchoke tater tots with deviled egg, beets and drizzled in dill oil with a house draft ginger beer Moscow Mule to wash it down on the patio. Uchi is the queen of sushi in Austin and is known for being pricey but if you go for the daily Sake Social Hour, there is a select menu with cheaper food and drink prices. $3 Sake, anyone?!
Our final Austin food conquest was a big one- Whole Foods. The Whole Foods Headquarters is based in Austin so needless to say it’s the best of the best when it comes to Whole Foods. It’s HUGE with extra samples and a section for every food category you can think of. After aimlessly walking through the aisles and aisles of local food, we decided on the full blown sushi bar for a sashimi bowl and grabbed a smoothie on my our way out to sit in the large outdoors dining area.
So yes, SXSW is all about innovative thinkers and do-ers but also eaters. Don’t be afraid to gain a few pounds and definitely pack your stretchy jeans to ATX. Life is too short to say no to BBQ.
SXSW is upon us and we can’t wait to escape to the warm Austin sun. As we prepare and pack our bags, we wanted to share with you some of Team S’well travel necessities:
– 9oz Ocean Blue | Shimmer Collection S’well bottle to stay hydrated
–Botkier White Warren Backpack to carry everything in style
–Opening Ceremony Mophie Phone Charger because no one likes a dead phone
–Nourish Energize Snacks to stay energized in between big taco and BBQ binges
If you’re looking to explore Austin outside of SXSW, you’ve got to check out The Afar Guide To Austin, giving you essential lists of the best places to sightsee, shop, and more. If you’re hoping to get a taste of Austin, then look no further than Infatuation which will be running, talking, paneling and of course #eeeeeats-ing throughout SXSW.
Want to meet team S’well? We will be all over Austin for SXSW. Come find our team at the Funny or Die house, the Spotify house and you may even see S’well bottles at Jimmy Kimmel Live, SXSW Interactive panel or every taco truck in the city. Tag #sxswell to join the conversation and view our live social feed here.
As mentioned in our previous blog post, we’ve been feeling like we’re living in an eternal winter here in New York. But we know the end is near and we all will defrost soon.
We’ve got some good times coming our way at SXSW this month! We’re excited to be apart of this year’s Spotify house during SXSW Interactive hosting SoulCycle in the mornings and amazing artist performances throughout the day/evening.
Team S’well has been compiling a playlist of tunes we can’t get out of our heads in hopes to get us through the remaining weeks winter a little bit faster. If you have a Spotify account, search for “swellbottle” and check out what we’re listening to. If you don’t already have it, download Spotify and jam to our “Jaded” playlist.
Winter got you feeling jaded too? We’re kicking off the last month of cold weather by taking 15% off 9oz and 25oz Jade from now until March 31st, while supplies last. Shop now.
