Governor’s Ball Music Festival, aka GOV BALL, is NYC’s best kept music festival secret. Tickets are substantially less expensive than Coachella and other major festivals but the line up is just as impressive featuring headliners Drake, Lana del Rey, the Black Keys and Florence and the Machine. Those of us in the office attending are currently preparing our ears on Spotify with our custom made playlist.
If you don’t have tickets you can follow along on our Spotify playlist here. We’re clearly most excited to see Drake and Florence and the Machine but other highlights from the festival include the Lana del Rey, Odesza, MØ, ASTR, Little Dragon, Flume, Ratatat and the Black Keys.
Luckily for our taste buds, the Infatuation partnered with Gov Ball this year to curate the food vendors. Our favorite #EEEEEATS include Luke’s Lobster, Momofuku Milk Bar, Mighty Quinn’s, Taqueria Diana, Van Leeuwen, Tacombi. Our stomach’s growling already thinking about it!
We are even excited about Gov Ball’s location on Randall’s Island- just a ferry ride from Manhattan gives you an excuse to be on a boat with some fresh air outside the city.
And it goes without saying to make sure you pack your favorite color S’well bottle and fill it at the water stations throughout the venue to stay hydrated in between visiting the beer tents and never ending acts.
Unlike Drake’s mixtape, if you’re reading this it’s NOT TOO LATE to buy tickets, still available here. Also not too late to get a S’well bottle in time for the festival, swing by Rothman’s in Union Square for a wide variety of S’well bottle colors and styles at our temporary pop up shop. You may just come out of there with one for you at Gov Ball and one for Dad for Father’s Day…
Congratulations Class of 2015- you made it! The nights you’ll never forget and the nights you’ll never remember, the all-nighters, late night snacks, procrastination, and of course your friends. Your college days have finally come to an end. Whether you’re continuing on with your studies or diving straight into the “real world,” there’s no need to fret. Be proud of what you have already accomplished and have confidence in what you can do next. If you’ve made it this far, who’s to say you’re not capable of going even further? So if you feel like you might not have it together yet, we have a solution for you. S’well is currently looking for interns. Think you have what it takes? Take a look and apply now. This may be the answer to jump-start your career!
P.S. School might be over, but the learning never really ends in life! For those of you reading this and feeling like you need a gift for those three graduation parties this weekend, look no further than a S’well bottle. You won’t have to worry about buying the wrong size, and if you fill the 25oz with champagne (the vacuum seal keeps it bubbly and cold for 24 hours) you’ll earn brownie points. Shop now and you’ll be sure to find your graduate’s collegiate colors to keep the school spirit alive wherever they end up.
Break out your biggest hat and pastel clothing because it’s that time of year again… DERBY. The only thing better than the race at the Kentucky Derby is the Mint Julep. To celebrate this year’s derby take your Mint Julep on the go with our Silver Lining S’well bottle. Here’s our favorite recipe via Epicurious:
- Start with an ounce of minted simple syrup
- Add one cup of crushed ice
- Pour 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey and a splash of water
- Fill the rest of the bottle with remaining ice
- Stir or tighten our vacuum sealed cap to shake for a thorough mix
- Top with fresh mint sprig for garnish
This drink recipe will fit perfectly in a 9oz S’well bottle, easy to carry in your bag throughout the weekend’s festivities. Shop 9oz Silver Lining | Shimmer Collection S’well now.
