S’uper Bowl 50

If you follow us on social media, then you know team S’well was just out in San Francisco for the Super Bowl. Between enjoying all of the Super Bowl festivities, we also made some time to do as the Californians do!

Our first stop was at Tartine Bakery, the quintessential place to carbo load for no reason.  The giant croissant pictured is not your average breakfast pastry. It is actually filled with smoked ham and Gruyere and is one of Tartine’s claims to fame. We also enjoyed a mushroom croque-monsieur, banana bread pudding and lattes.

We made our way to Super Bowl Village to see all of the excitement and football fans gathered together. People were representing jerseys from all different teams, but all shared the enthusiasm for the Super Bowl.

This year, S’well was chosen by the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee to be part of their gifting suite. NFL executives and players came through and had a chance to pick up some amazing swag, including a Rose Gold S’well.

San Francisco is the first city in the United States to ban the sale of plastic water bottles. We were excited to see water stations in the different places we visited encouraging people to switch over to reusable bottles.

Right across the street from Super Bowl Village was The Ferry Building, housing more local San Francisco eats and shops to be explored.

The last stop before making our way to the airport was at none other than In-n-Out. No trip to California is complete without a Double-Double and Animal Style fries from their not-so-secret menu.

Until next time, we’ve left our hearts in San Francisco! Follow us on snapchat to get more behind-the-scenes looks at S’well.

Coachella 101

Lately, our social feeds have been taken over by palm tree lined sunset Coachella shots. The Indio desert has been invaded with trendsetters alike bobbing to live music with flowers in their hair. Having gone, there’s a few first hand tips that you’ll want to know going into weekend 2 of Coachella:

The desert is dry, hot and dusty and the last thing you want at any festival is a spout of dehydration. So our first tip is to pack a S’well bottle that you can fill up at the free water stations throughout the festival. The 9oz S’well is perfect because it won’t get heavy in your backpack or satchel of choice. You can even match your outfits to your S’well for an optimal #OOTD.

Of course, make sure you stick with someone at all times and make an easy and recognizable meeting spot in case you all split for whatever reason. But most importantly turn your phone on airplane mode until you really need to use it. The service will be so bad that your phone will be searching for a signal and slowly draining your battery. Be sure to close out of all your battery draining apps as well. Really need to send that snapchat of Drake’s performance? Just turn off airplane mode until it goes through and then toggle it back on again.

As a back up, bring a chalk ink pen to write your friends cell phone # on your S’well in case your phone does end up dying. The chalk ink pen’s ink quickly dries on your S’well and stays smudge free until you want to wipe it off easily with a damp cloth.

You’ll be on your feet ALL day (with the exception of when you’re escaping between sets to the beer garden). No one wants feet full of blisters after day 1. Our favorite festival shoe, the classic Arizona birkenstocks, are sure to provide the support your feet will need all day long.

Assuming you haven’t spent much time in the desert, we’ll let you in on a little secret; Avoid the dust. On your way to and from the shuttle stop, the stampedes of Coachella goers create quite the dust storm. So bringing a bandana in your backpack to tie over your nose/mouth will help you to avoid a sand storm in your lungs.

Also on the subject of the desert, it may get scorching hot in the afternoons, but the evenings can get pretty chilly so pack layers that you can throw on as the sun goes down. You don’t want to be the one shivering at the after party. We especially love this light-weight kimono via Shopbop.

Take lots and lots of pictures. Your friends and followers will be secretly living vicariously through your Coachella adventures so don’t keep them waiting!
