Our bottles are created with ThermaS’well technology. Our vacuum seal keeps any liquid you place inside hot for 24 hours and cold for 12, so there’s no need to place in a freezer or refrigerator. Doing so can actually damage the bottle & it’s vacuum seal.
Regarding the soy-based paints we use on our bottles — S’well bottles are subject to normal wear and tear. In some instances pieces of the paint may chip from a fall or two. When we decided on the paint, we looked for a solution that was safe & eco-friendly first and foremost. True durability had to be sacrificed in this case.
**We have subsequently perfected a safe and more durable finish that is chip-resistant featured in our Stone Collection.
S’well bottles are simply cleaned with a mixture of hot water and soap.
For optimal cleansing, we recommend a mixture of hot water, soap, and vinegar. S’well bottles are NOT dishwasher safe so please be careful when cleaning your bottle.

S’well bottles are made high-quality, 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. They are BPA & toxin-free, providing a healthier and safer option to single-use plastic water bottles. Our variety of paints are soy-based and also toxin/lead free.
**Our bottle caps do contain a singular silicon O-ring.
S’well has always shared the same concerns as our customers regarding the manufacturing of our bottles in China. We have set in place a set of manufacturing guidelines by which all our partners of overseas must abide to ensure that our product is produced safely and sustainably. More importantly, these guidelines ensure the well being of the people who create our bottles, guaranteeing fair treatment and compensation. By manufacturing in China, S’well is able to create an item of exceptional quality at a reasonable price.
S’well bottles are airport security friendly, as long as you remember to empty out what’s inside first!
No — all S’well bottles are made from high quality 18/8 grade stainless steel, completely free of BPA and harmful toxins. Stainless steel is inherently safe, and the insides of our bottles don’t need a liner.
Our Chalk Ink pens are safe and toxin free. They are easily removed using a damp cloth, or Windex.
We recommend drying your S’well with the lid off.
**Please note that submerging your cap for long periods of time can also interfere with the vacuum seal.

Whether your packing some wine or champagne for a dinner party or coffee and tea for your morning commute, S’well bottles are capable of maintaining the temperature of all liquids. Thanks to its vacuum seal, a S’well can also maintain carbonation for those bubbly drinks!

S’well is a busy, yet small team. We also want to keep our customers happy! Please allow 7-10 business days to process a return or exchange from the day that we receive your items back in our warehouse.
If you have purchased or received a product directly from www.swellbottle.com and would like to return or exchange it within 14 days, we can issue either a complete refund or exchange. Returns items must be in perfect, unused condition and must be made within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, we will not accept returns for any reason other than manufacturer defect.
S’well offers a 1-year replacement period for items presenting with manufacturing defects. Orders outside one year will receive a credit towards a future www.swellbottle.com purchase.
** Customers who have purchased items from an authorized S’well retailer must initiate all returns and exchanges through the original point of purchase.
All orders are shipped from our warehouse based in San Diego, CA. Orders are shipped from Monday-Friday, with the exception of holidays.
Orders under $90.00 (excluding shipping) are shipped via USPS Priority Mail 2-day. Orders of $90 + are shipped via FedEx ground. Upon receipt of your order, you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking for your order – usually within 48 hours of purchase. Allow for up to day 5 transit days.
Please note that USPS Priority is not a guaranteed service of 2-3 days travel days. Transit time is dependent on location in relation to our DC in California.
S’well accepts all major credit cards, as well as PayPal for payment.
